What is a terrarium?
After buying one pre-made before that my partner lives I brought this as a gift for his birthday he was so thrilled. Product was high quality and has everything you need down to the little tools! Step by step instructions really easy to follow. Also the customer service is above and beyond, I ordered in advance and requested a certain date and they delivered as requested using a courier service so could track. Perfect present and now perfect feature in our living room. Thanks so much!

FAQs
With ‘Closed bottle Terrariums’ with lids or that are sealed, water little and infrequently. Only water when the substrate, soil, or moss begins to look or feel dry. Crispy, yellowing moss and light-brown soil are good indicators of dryness. If the plants begin to slump or look limp, it may need some water, equally if the terrarium never steams up, it may also need some water. Water sparingly and with distilled or rain water is best. The benefit of a closed bottle terrarium is that it creates its own humid environment, perfect for plants that love moisture. This ‘closed’ element creates the right conditions for the terrarium to have its own water cycle in the jar and create this vibrant mini ecosystem.
Terrariums will thrive in most environments around your home or office space. Try and place your terrarium in a bright spot but not in direct sunlight. LED lights may help your plants grow and give additional growth periods for your plants in the darker seasons. Avoid placing your terrarium near a drafty window that gets too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer. Avoid a radiator or electrical appliances that give off heat. Terrariums endure best in mild stable temperatures that are well lit.
Steaming up is a normal process with terrariums and it shows that the water cycle is happening inside. If it is steaming up, it’s a good sign that there is enough water. If it stays steamed up all the time, it may have too much water, be in direct sunlight or too close to a radiator or warm appliance. If there it isn’t in direct sunlight or too close to a heat source, open the lid for a few hours until the condensation has dried up and to release some of the excess water moisture.
Leaves that touch the glass will need pruning and trimming back. If not pruned, this may cause the leaves to turn brown, rot and introduce mould into your terrarium. We recommend trimming back your plants at this stage as it also promotes new growth in your plants.
Mould and fungus growth is normal in a terrarium due to it being so humid and moist inside. Mould should be removed when spotted, it may be a sign of overcrowding of your plants, overwatering or even disease. Fungus isn’t something to be worried about, unless you find them unsightly in which case they can be removed.
